Inspired by the great biodiversity of Latvia and those who embrace it, Ascending Glades represents a person’s journey among the dense forest of Scandinavia in search of opening views. While being an attraction for views, this observation tower takes the opportunity to geographically introduce visitors to many other wonders of the North Vidzeme Biosphere and Latvia at each of the four Cardinal Direction floors.
The structure of the tower transforms into galvanized steel strands that represent silver birch (betula pendula) tree of the baltic region, characterized by its silver, slender singular trunk. Mixing with newly planted trees, the structure creates a semi-natural forest and an experience of being enclosed by forest.
