River City is a proposal for a new urban development within China’s Pearl River Delta. The proposal demarcates a beginning for the area with a 300 meters tall financial tower and the supportive of hotel, shopping, and residential structures, all tie together to create a micro-city.
The layout of the project aims to take advantage of the new transportation hub to the east and the river to the west, channeling both forces into the middle of the project to create a destination.
The river is shown to be integrated into the project, with water features penetrate layers of programs from the outdoor park, entertainment district into the center of the project that a semi indoor tropical park that is surrounded by retail programs.

The living spine of the project happens in the form of a sunken plaza. Users exiting the metro will have a direct path toward the heart of the new development through an art tunnel that leads to semi indoor park, and eventually to the river.
The face of the development is exhibited by a composition of the two main towers on the south corner of the project, creating a gateway. The two towers house offices and a 5-star hotel, and are integrated with the shopping and entertainment programs at the base.
Shopping and entertainment programs are located toward the metro station, inviting pedestrian that exits the metro to the street level. The development is completed with 3 luxury residential towers that rise in height toward the waterfront.
